It's never too late to be Irish!

There are 4 certainties in life:

♣ taxes
♣ death
♣ that the Hutt Valley Irish Society comes out to celebrate St Patrick's Day, and
♣ we have photos (& video) to prove it!

St Patrick's Day is a high point in the life of all Irish societies, around the world.

In 2019 our celebrations were overshadowed by tragedy at two Christchurch mosques; in 2020 we've felt obliged to cancel our official events in the light of the coronavirus pandemic.

But it wasn't ALL gloom and doom! In fact, the Saturday before St Patrick's Day was anything but gloomy. The Wellington waterfront was bathed in glorious late summer sun, temperatures were mild, and the Irish came out to play! For the first time since 2005 we had a St Patrick's Day Parade in Wellington! So the waterfront, and Queen's Wharf was a sea of green. See for yourself.
